Life Cover, Critical Illness Cover and Protection Planning
Many of us know someone who has died young, or who has had a serious illness, and a lack of protection planning can have a massive impact on family finances.
But how many of us have seriously thought about how long we could pay the bills for if we were unable to work, or if we were no longer there?
This does not only apply to wage earners. Legal and General, in their 2015 Value of a Parent survey, value the domestic work a Mum does each year at £29,535. For Dads it’s £21,601.
Parents estimate that on average the day-to-day cost of raising a child to the age of 18 is £123,365, when in fact the cost is £184,392! This does not, of course, include the cost of university.
The good news is that improvements in medical care mean we are now far more likely to survive serious illnesses; for example, 81% of breast cancer sufferers will now survive for at least five years after diagnosis.*
How can I plan for the unexpected?
Give yourself and your family peace of mind by ensuring you have the right protection planning and products in place. So, if the unexpected does happen, you’ll be better prepared for it.
It is important to make sure you not only have the right type of plan but also that the cover levels are right for your needs.
Can you check existing policies?
We can check any existing plans you have to make sure they are still suitable for you. If you have older schemes, or schemes that were arranged directly through a Bank or Insurer, you may be paying far too much for the cover you have.
If you would like to discuss any of these areas in detail with one of our advisers, or if you would like a quotation, please give us a call o 01543 410512.
